I have still not as accomplished as much but I have been still doing some research from HSETV News, trying to find ways and finding information to contacting the person that is the head of Stigma Free Club. I am still struggling trying to find more information that I need and due to all of the recent activities going on in my life it has still been very difficult for me to still continue progressing in my probletunity thinking it is too big, not many responses, or how I would be able to handle the big goals making them smaller whenever I would be meeting up with someone that said for me to only try and do it around HSE. Obstacles in the way is reading, track, my life in health wise (not feeling the best and motivation), school, and other things I would want to do currently. Somethings have drastically changed in my project like trying to find a way to make a survey which fortunately I have made but not sure how to be able to share due to the site that I am using it on so if anyone that is reading this blog (not sure) if they could please try to comment after this blog post how to work Survey Monkey. Also, knowing that I have limited time this week to do more progress this next week on my probletunity but I would passionately like to make a change in HSE about this problem. I wish I could do more and even including my goals but pretty sure HSE would do nothing about it other than "hear about it" or not about this probletunity that I would be addressing at HSE due to the students, the teachers, and how the school board would approve of this probletunity or not. I would have to unfortunately get most of my results the in the week of May 7th, but I will try getting members of my current choir Accents to try and get some results from my survey if possible. Lastly, due to so much going on at once in my life, it will set me back and make this probletunity impossible to finish because I feel like I would know my own mind set and not much going on in possibly the next future blog posts on my website. For some that are looking at mine, thank you much even if some are odd sayings that I say.

I still unfortunately have not made any recent progress but I have found some more ways to try and solve these due dates that are in my schedule to my probletunity. I was thinking of pushing back my original due dates to the last week in April to email the founder of Stigma Free club and trying to go to their last meet in May. The obstacles that stand in my way is still trying to find a way to contact Ranvir Sandhu and asking him to try and answer some of my questions to my goals to my probletunity. Lastly, I have made a little progress because I have thought of a few solutions to trying to create my survey to the school and trying to ask HSETV News to try it out for everyone. Nothing has changed drastically other than unfortunately pushing back most almost all of my due dates to the probletunity project.
From making my goals, I have started to talk to a couple of ordinary people talking about mental health illnesses being a problem being seen as a sign of weakness, looking at what Stigma Free has on the HSETV News website, trying to find the contact of the manager of Stigma Free around HSE.
I unfortunately had to shorten my goals due to it being very big but even though HSE has a few organizations and ways of talking about it, and trying to talk to all of the Health teachers that teach at HSE and see how they discuss about mental health. I have also been analyzing the Florida shooting that happened this past February and more research on the "Walk-Out" that recently happened nationwide in many schools and how our school reacted to it. Also, unfortunately there are a few obstacles in my way currently to accomplishing my goals and is having me push back on a couple of weeks on some of my goals. Luckily on March 8th, I attended this talk from Innovations Club hosted by Miss. Habig talking all about mental health and what ways students and teachers can try and understand mental health better around the community while remembering some of that information that was talked about on that day. My goals have changed drastically because my goals were big so I had to go small and while I am currently doing a sport in this season it is hard to take on my sport and my probletunity. It has been hard for me to first try to find a website of how to create your own quiz but possibly a Kahoot would have to be made on the way, trying to find the dates to the Stigma Free meetings, and finding all of the Health Teachers around the building to talk about mental health and when they would respond. I will adjust to these goals by trying to act quicker and possibly emailing Mr. Hoover about trying to discuss about my probletunity. 1. Most people in Indiana can understand that any type of mental health illness is not a sign of weakness and to understand why it is important to take care of mental health.
S- wanting to show people in Indiana and then the US that mental health illnesses are not a sign of weakness. M- have some people around Indiana take multiple tests about if they have any type of mental health illness, or try to give those who have a type of mental health illness advice on what to do and not lead to suicide. A- use some research, more professionals to give why many people have a type of mental health illness, see how social media affects some people that have mental health or how they see some things on social media and how it would affect themselves. R- see what people think about mental health illnesses and trying to get social media involved to try and create positive movement. T- try to get information and analysis's done due by the last week in April. 2. Start showing that Hamilton Southeastern High School not seeing mental health illnesses as a sign of weakness and being taken seriously to deal with. S- get this information from many sources around the school and talk more about mental health illnesses having students think why it is bad to show having a mental health illness. M- talk to Stigma Free about mental health, see what other teachers think about mental health illnesses, and talk to Mr. Kegley or Mr. Hoover about in some ways why the school doesn't talk about mental health illnesses around the school and in classes for the teachers. A- talk to the guidance counselors at the school, how some teachers prepare to help students that talk about mental health struggles and what to do. R- analyze how teachers and students can see mental health illnesses in a different light and act as soon as possible. T- try to get information and analyzing the school about mental health illnesses due by the first week in May. 3. How mental health illnesses can affect people and what to do when dealing with it from many people that have different types in Indiana. S- how affective mental health illnesses are to people in Indiana. M- get the mayor of Indiana to get information of what the state has done locally to help mental health illnesses. A- get more information on what can be early detection on finding mental health illnesses not coming out. R- see what projects on social media are a success or have not been successful. T- get this due at the third week in May and the third week in April. 4. How to use mental health illnesses as a problem to be effective so that people can draw towards the issue of mental health illnesses being seen as a sign of weakness to prevent it from happening. S- think of ways that people would want to draw into this problem around Indiana and then possibly the US after. M- start trying to plot this idea of the issue to many experts about the probletunity and to see what they would think about it being "advertised" in a positive light. A- look at research and see the different types of mental health illness advertisements are like or if their is like an education for mental health illnesses. R- from the research, try to detect why many people don't take mental health illnesses seriously or the ones having them why it is very hard for them to come out and say that they are struggling especially in students at many school levels. T- get this due at the second week in May. 5. Looking through many expert's "eyes" about how they try to help their patients that deal with any mental health illness. S- start talking to my experts and any new ones about how they deal with their patients with mental health illnesses or to look back at what they said to the previous month about it from the Shark Tank video. M- try to issue this to the experts that I have used. A- analyze that information that they have answered to the questions, and how they would answer the new issue of my question that I would present to them. R- get their processes of what they do to help their mental health patients with their different type of mental health illnesses. T- get this due on the second to last week in April.
Source 1: https://www.nimh.nih.gov/news/science-news/2018/mental-illnesses-by-the-numbers.shtml. My first source will outline my problem and launch me into a solution because this source is from a scientific study using statistics about how millions of people are suffering with some type of mental health illness. "Mental illnesses affect tens of millions of people in the United States and across the globe each year. Each of these individuals has a singular, compelling story that conveys an understanding of the depth of suffering. Statistics build on this foundation by helping us better understand the broader scope and impact of mental illnesses on society," (National Institute of Mental Health). This quote was using how not just the United States is struggling with a type of mental health but it would be affecting the way our society will be like in the future. Source 1 is credible because they want their goal to be helping people understand the impact mental illnesses have and that we need to take a stand and think of mental health as important like we would in other types of health. It was using more also of a statistics view from science that mental health is very serious and that it might continue to grow if we can't do anything about it. It will help me because from looking at the large numbers and statistics from the article saying how can we try to decrease those numbers over around the United States and even in parts of the globe possibly. Source 2: https://www.mind.org.uk/information-support/types-of-mental-health-problems/mental-health-problems-introduction/#.WpAhVEDwbIU. My second source will outline my problem and launch me to a solution because this source is using the UK as an example of how they may think that some of the other countries want to try and help mental health and trying to use many perspectives on how these may even come to solutions to my problem. They stated on the website many times about how we may feel if we have a mental health and ways of why we would be afraid of trying to get treatment for the different types of mental health illnesses that are out there. This source is credible because they have many pages of how the different types of treatment can actually help the way we feel and how people react to hearing about any type of mental health illness or mental health in general. According to one theory that they have on one of the sections on the website, it said "these fears are often reinforced by the negative (and often unrealistic)" compared to our society even when we just simply look at a celebrity or look on the TV and have not expressed much of dealing with a mental health illness. This will help me because my main purpose and point of views can relate very much to the website even though they are from the UK. Source 3: https://www.howtogeek.com/254396/why-its-so-hard-to-talk-about-mental-health/.
My last source will outline my problem and help launch me into a solution by the author herself using many comparisons to how important mental health illnesses are in our health. This source is credible because she uses many examples from doctors, her personal examinations of how she has seen mental health come in as a problem, and even using a TED Talk from a doctor in her comparisons. She uses in the beginning "it's like getting a broken arm and everyone trying to sign it as quickly as possible," (Pinola, Why It's So Hard to Talk About Mental Health). Also, in the sentence after that quote, she uses how when people are hearing mental health, people and are expressing it to be running away from those problems driving them away not wanting to help. This source will help me because this article relates to me a lot and I think the same way I do about my own mental health illness and how I think mental health should be perused as in a positive light.

How can I build that confidence to try and help others with mental health illnesses while I have mental health issues around my life? 4. Can their be a process of ways that I can use to help me think of on my life and to those who are suffering with any type of mental health illness? 5. Would help trying to solve mental health illnesses and the issue that it has on society affect my life? 6. What are some healthy ways without drugs and other medications that mental health illness types can be helped especially at many schools? 7. What can I try to do and help take action to helping mental health illnesses? 8. Can there be early ways to identify whether my mood might define different types of mental health illnesses? 9. How can I promote myself to wanting to find the symptoms of mental health illnesses or some that might be new? 10. Can any of my passions be any healthy ways of helping take away mental illness pains?
One of my problems for my blog is how HSE doesn't have enough sports teams for each person that tryouts out for a team but does not make the desired sport that they tried out for at the school. Another problem I have is how mental health is not taken seriously around America and even in some parts of the world in some countries. My last problem is how we need more animal shelters to help out the homeless animals instead of getting more cruelty and negative opinions about animal shelters.
The first problem that I listed lights me on fire because I know many people that tryout for sports including myself and don't make the team and it hurts (for many) since I have been the type of person that has been down that road to keep and has wants be able to enjoy a sport that they are doing. Even though they have some co-ed sports or club sports at the school for some but I think they should have all sports open for the ones that don't make that sports team that they tried out for so that they may also feel as if they are taking part of the school. My fire lights up at the second one the most because I know many people that struggle with mental health and it is a problem in today's society still and can cause many effects and if it is going to keep continuing in the future I think it might as well be addressed in a serious matter. Also, I feel like mental health can be helped a lot even though we may not see clear signs but it bothers me to hear problems constantly about this type of health that is not physical. My last issue in this last problem lights me up because I believe many people have good in their lives and have voices and are not afraid to use it and with animals, they don't have voices and many are abused, homeless, and are looking for homes. I have my own dog at home and when I see many animals all I think of is love to treat that animal with respect and to make them happy as if they were like humans even though that is called "make-believe." I feel as if many ways we can help these animals by a simple act as if they were our own children in the future and always needing a will for good. |
